Venezuela passed laws aimed at redistributing land and wealth in 2001. They have enough oil and economic resources not to be in the state the country is in, and it’s not corruption, it’s systemic mismanagement.

I fully admit to being one of your cunty (not sure about touchy) lefty two bob pricks, but where you're wrong is that, like many other socialists, I'm not at all interested in getting my thieving mits on what more successful people have earned. I just want to live in a more egalitarian society. At the moment under these fucking disastrous Tories, the rich pay fuck-all tax and squirrel all their money away in off-shore tax havens, where it does fuck-all for the British economy. That's why they impose austerity on us.
As for Venezuela, the reason it's a basket case is because it's utterly corrupt, not because it's socialist. If you want advertisements for socialism try looking at the highly successful and civilized Scandinavian countries.
